Privacy Policy

What we collect

Almost nothing.

• Your input. When you paste text or drop a screenshot, we send it to our AI provider so it can generate verdicts. We don't save it. After the verdicts come back, it's gone from our servers.
• Anonymous usage. We track how many verdicts get generated and which pages people visit. None of it is tied to you.

That's the list.

What we don't collect

• We don't ask you to make an account.
• We don't store your texts, screenshots, or verdicts.
• We don't sell your data. (It would be a short sale; see above.)
• We don't track you across the internet.
• We don't knowingly collect data on anyone under 18. The Group Chat is for users 18 and older.

Cookies and local storage

Your browser keeps a small marker so the site remembers your language preference and whatever state we need to make the site work. That stays on your device. We don't use advertising cookies.

Who else touches your data

Categories of services we use, each under their own privacy policy:

• An AI model provider generates the verdicts
• A hosting provider serves the site
• A privacy-respecting analytics provider counts anonymous usage

We don't name them publicly by design. If you want the specifics, email hello@thegroupchat.app and we'll tell you.

Your rights

Email hello@thegroupchat.app if you want to:

• Ask what data we have about you (very little, by design)
• Ask us to delete anything we do have
• Get a copy of your data in a portable format

We respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK-GDPR / CCPA. the substance above covers them.

Safety screening

We screen inputs for crisis content, threats, self-harm signals, and content involving minors. When something triggers, we show resources instead of generating a verdict. We don't store flagged inputs differently (we don't store any inputs). We don't contact authorities based on what you submit.

International users

We're operated from the U.S. Using the service from outside the U.S. means your data is processed in the U.S. and in countries where our service providers operate.

Security

We use standard practices to protect the limited data we hold. Nobody honest can promise perfect security. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you within the window required by applicable law.

If we update this policy, the new version lives here with the date at the top.
